π Polio in Pakistan β 2025 Snapshot
Pakistan has reported 6 polio cases so far in 2025. Authorities have planned three major campaigns in the first half of the year, with rounds scheduled for April and May to curb the virus’ spread.
𧬠Why This Campaign Matters
Polio is a highly contagious viral disease that primarily affects children under 5. It can lead to permanent paralysis or even death. Since there’s no treatment, prevention through vaccination is the only way to protect communities.
βThe polio vaccine is safe and effective, and itβs critical that all children complete the full immunization schedule,β said a health department official.
π‘ Public Awareness Message
Parents are encouraged to cooperate with health workers and ensure that every child in their household receives the polio drops during the campaign.
