WhatsApp voice note transcription is in progress

California: Instant messaging application WhatsApp has converted voice notes into textWork has started on introducing this feature.

Meta's sub-app has seen some hints pointing to this feature in its latest beta version 2.24.7.7.

As per the indications, the app will first download 150 megabytes of data which is required for the feature to work. The feature will use the device's speech recognition system to provide an end-to-end encrypted transcript.

This feature option will be available in Settings Chats of the app. This feature is still under development and may be available to beta users for testing at any time.

It should be noted that this feature has been introduced by WhatsApp in iOS in May last year, while applications like Google Message and Telegram already support the S feature in Android.
