I just want to be clear, it was not my intention to omit, but rather a choice of the producers not to have them said. again since they were highlighted individually throughout the ceremony. I was honored to be part of the evening and I chose to follow the manner in which they wanted this award to be presented,” Al Pacino's statement read, reported Variety.

“I realize that being nominated is a milestone in life and that not being fully recognized is offensive and hurtful. I say this as someone with deep relationships with filmmakers, actors and producers, so “I deeply sympathize with those who have been harmed by this oversight. and that is why I found it necessary to make this statement,” reads an excerpt from Al Pacino's declaration, by variety.
